Udinese win against Como with Brenner Brillance
Second match at the Bluenergy Stadium and second victory for Udinese, despite the risk taken in the second half stoppage time with Cutrone's missed penalty. Como started off well, but it's Udinese who would first threaten with a cross-shot from Ehizibue that almost finds Lucca's foot. A few minutes later, Como approaches the opponent's goal, but Da Cunha's shot hits the side netting.
There aren't many thrills until the half-hour mark when Belotti nearly scores with a header for Como, putting the Bianconeri under pressure for a few minutes. However, Runjaic's team remains composed, and in the 42nd minute, Brenner scores by turning in a cross from Ehizibue.
At the end of the first half, there's also time for a dangerous shot from Strefezza, which grazes the post to the right of Okoye. Returning from the break, Como pushes more in the opening minutes, with a shot from Cutrone easily saved by Okoye. Udinese quickly returns to frequently testing Reina.
Around the hour mark, Udinese goalkeeper is called into action again, stopping Kempf's header. Shortly after, Kabasele and Bijol prevent Fadera from shooting from a favorable position. Como remains dangerous midway through the second half with a shot from substitute Paz that goes just wide, but soon after, it's Udinese with Davis, who turns a pass from Iker Bravo just wide, coming close to scoring.
A scare for the Bianconeri occurs when Fadera intercepts a ball played by Okoye, but fortunately, the deflection doesn't find the net. Later, Ehizibue, served in depth by Ekkelenkamp, almost provides the assist for Iker Bravo's first Italian goal.
The seven minutes of stoppage time awarded by Prontera deliver a thrilling finale: Payero's handball in the area is punished after a VAR review, Cutrone steps up to the penalty spot but misses. After over 100 minutes of play, the final whistle blows, confirming Udinese's second consecutive victory.
